arxyuki is a term I created that combines the Latin word “Arx” which refers to a Roman Citadel and the Japanese word “雪” which means snow. One term resembles the potential of formidable strength and a safe last line of defense, while the other represents beauty and a softness that hides in persistence and unity. Together I want these terms to depict a feeling I don’t have words to convey.
My art is made from many different mediums and focuses on elegance and simplicity. My style is inspired by my time living in Japan and incorporates Japanese design ideas.
My name is Daniel Lilly. I served as a missionary with YWAM Tokyo for three years. My wife and I are currently in school at Seattle Pacific University, where I am planning on majoring in Illustration. My dream is to be an artist based in Japan and open an art studio in Hokkaido that focuses on producing art and mentoring young artists.
This site serves as my art portfolio.
